Frequently Asked Questions
Why was my account banned?
Our anti-cheat system identified the potential use of external software interacting with WARDOGS in unsupported ways. Accounts are flagged and reviewed over time, with confirmed violations resulting in bans issued immediately or as part of a wider ban wave.
What counts as cheating?
The use of unsupported software or modifications that interfere with normal gameplay can result in an account ban.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Tampering with WARDOGS game files or related drivers.
Third-party software that takes control of mouse movement.
Aim assistance or recoil manipulation tools.
Software that manipulates weapon fire rates.
Other unsupported software that modifies the game or interacts with display, aiming, or player inputs in unnatural ways.
For further information about prohibited activities and account enforcement, please refer to the WARDOGS Terms of Use.
I only used head-tracking software for flying. Why was I banned?
Head-tracking software is considered prohibited under the current anti-cheat rules, even when used for legitimate purposes such as flying.
This is because the software can produce movement patterns that are difficult to distinguish from those generated by cheating tools.
As a result, its use may lead to an account ban regardless of the intended purpose.
Can you tell me which program caused my ban, or which programs are allowed?
For security reasons, we are unable to disclose the specific software responsible for an account ban. We are also unable to provide a definitive list of approved or prohibited third-party applications. This helps protect the integrity of our anti-cheat measures and prevents potential misuse of that information.
I'm a normal player. Should I be worried?
No. Players using standard gaming hardware and commonly used communication software should not be concerned. Examples of permitted software and input devices include:
Voice communication software such as Discord.
Standard mouse and keyboard inputs.
HOTAS (Hands On Throttle and Stick) controllers.
Gamepads and controllers.
Players should avoid using unsupported software that modifies gameplay or manipulates player inputs.
How do I appeal my ban?
If you believe your account was banned incorrectly, you can submit an appeal through our official ban appeal portal:
Please note that our Player Support team cannot directly investigate, overturn, or lift account bans. All appeals must be submitted through the dedicated system.
Can my smurf or alternate accounts be banned too?
Yes. Alternate or smurf accounts associated with players identified as violating our anti-cheat rules may also be included in enforcement actions.
Can I get a refund if my account was banned?
Purchases associated with accounts banned on gold-farming and real-money trading (RMT) servers are not eligible for refunds under the applicable enforcement policy, subject to any statutory rights. For general information about purchases and refunds, please refer to the WARDOGS Terms of Use.
I still see cheaters in the game. Why haven't they been banned?
While our anti-cheat measures are continually being improved, no system can immediately identify and remove every player who cheats. Some accounts may require additional investigation before enforcement action can be taken. If you encounter a player you suspect of cheating, please use the in-game reporting system. Player reports help our teams identify suspicious behaviour and may contribute to future investigations and ban waves.
Can Player Support review my ban appeal?
No. Our Player Support team is unable to directly investigate, review, overturn, or determine the outcome of account bans. All ban appeals must be submitted through the official appeal portal to ensure they are handled through the correct process.
